Caption:Oscar Neame takes on his mum and his maths teacher is a puzzling problem!

It was time to turn the tables on the parents this week at The Hawthorns School, Bletchingley, when the Maths Department invited the Year Five parents to join them for a morning of mathematical puzzles and problem solving! The pupils and their parents were set a number of challenges and worked together to solve them all. Many of the parents commented "it is very different from when I was at school!" Sachin Sukhdeo, Head of Maths, said "it's a great opportunity for the parents to see how we teach Maths today and to experience it for themselves. It also encourages them to get involved in helping their children with their maths in a really positive way."
