Sixteen Canfordians destined for Oxbridge in 2012

Canford is celebrating university entrance success, with sixteen pupils receiving offers of places at Oxford and Cambridge for entry in 2012. Many congratulations to: Rosie Adamson - Geography - Magdalene College, Cambridge Olivia Bracken - Biochemistry - Brasenose College, Oxford Alice Carter - Theology - Oriel College, Oxford Ben Chapple - Natural Sciences - Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge Anastasia Chitty - Medicine - Pembroke College, Oxford Hamish Clifton - Experimental Psychology - University College, Oxford Aurelia Hibbert - Engineering - Trinity College, Cambridge Harry Horner - History and Economics - Pembroke College, Oxford Jonathon Ledger - Engineering - Homerton College, Cambridge Zara Marshall - English Language/Literature - St Anne's College, Oxford Susanna Meader - Biological Sciences - Wadham College, Oxford Warren Muggleton - Classics: Greek and Latin - King's College, Cambridge Louise Revell - Classics I - Christ Church College, Oxford Seb Siersted - Biochemistry - St Edmund Hall College, Oxford Katherine Sweet-Escott - Biological Sciences - St Peter’s College, Oxford Naomi Vides - Mathematics - Hertford College, Oxford Additionally, places have already been offered at Imperial College, University College London, Warwick and other top universities with many still waiting to hear results of applications. Headmaster, John Lever, commented: ‘This wonderful performance reflects the broad intellectual fare that pupils are offered throughout their time here. Academic life at Canford is not about exam performance so much as the nurturing of energetic and interesting minds. The latter inevitably feeds the former and makes our pupils attractive to world class universities. It is interesting also that most of our top academic performers are much involved in the school’s cultural and sporting life. '
