Some of the youngest children at the Froebelian school in Horsforth, Leeds, recently took delivery of a splendid new play house for their outdoor play area. There was great excitement when the house was delivered but as it came flat packed it needed the school's caretaker, Mr Paul Trafford, to put it together. The building didn't take him as long as he thought due to the assistance of four children from the Reception class, Dhilan Patel, Simran McCormack, Maria Speed and John Watt. 'We love the house' said Maria, 'and it even has a real doorbell!' The house, which has proved to be a great hit with the pupils, is also equipped with a play kitchen and opening doors and windows to encourage role play. Mr Tranmer, the school's headmaster said 'It is important that the children have stimulating apparatus in their playground which encourages co-operative play and shared learning. We know the play house will also provide a lot of fun and entertainment for the children.'
