Taverham's Outstanding Ofsted Inspection
21 July 2011

Caption:Celebrating continued success
This inspection took place in May 2011 and this is an exceptional result. Fewer than one-fifth of schools nationally, in both the state and independent sectors, achieve an “Outstanding” rating and there is no higher accolade. The welfare of all our pupils at Taverham Hall School is our top priority and this praise from Ofsted endorses the work and care that goes into ensuring that the children are able to grow and thrive in a safe, happy environment.
This recent Boarding Ofsted inspection is one of three inspections that have taken place at the school over the past 17 months. In January 2010 Ofsted inspected the school’s Nursery/Early Years department which was also rated “Outstanding” and in November 2010 the whole school was inspected by the Independent Inspectorate Team (ISI) who also deemed the EY provision to be “outstanding” and the whole school was described as providing “an excellent all-round education. The well-planned, wide-ranging and stimulating curriculum enables all pupils to reach high standards in relation to their age and ability.”
This is an extremely rewarding end to a very successful year at Taverham Hall School and we are immensely proud of our pupils and staff’s achievements. http://www.taverhamhall.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Ofsted-Boarding-Inspection-report-2011.pdf

Forthcoming Events
JUN
Taverham Hall Preparatory School’s Chapel Choir join together with The Wensum Camerata in performing at St Mary’s Church, North Elmham (one of Norfolk’s grandest churches) on Saturday 15th June. The memorable programme will embrace one of the most loved pieces of sacred music in Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’. Taverham Hall Preparatory School's Chapel Choir is an established choir of boys and girls who are pupils at the school. Entry to the choir is by audition and the age range is between 8 and 13. Many of the school's choristers play one or more instruments and go on to gain music scholarship places at senior school. The role of the choir has evolved over the last fifty years. Originally, the choir sang a full evensong each week and led the singing at the local church on Sundays. The choir has sung evensong at many English cathedrals, including Peterborough, Wells and St. Pauls. In recent years the choir has twice been a finalist in the Barnardos Youth Choir Festival in London, has sung at the prestigious Fishmongers' Hall in London and has performed locally in festivals and churches. Last Christmas, Taverham Hall's choir led the singing at the United Norwich Kidney Patients' Association Carol Service at Norwich Cathedral. The choir rehearses regularly each week and leads the singing in the school's morning assemblies, performs in most of Taverham Hall's music concerts and plays a major role in their annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in December. For this concert the choir is augmented to include alto, tenor and bass voices, including members of staff and friends of the school. Taverham Hall Preparatory School Chapel Choir is delighted to have the opportunity to sing in this beautiful church and to be accompanied by the accomplished musicians from The Wensum Camerata. The concert starts at 19:00 and admission is by programme at £7 (£5 concessions, under 16 free) on the door or in advance from: http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/elmhamchurchevents/ General information can be found at: http://www.elmhamchurchgroupnorfolk.org.uk/elmham-music/
