About Attain

Attain was launched in September 2006. One year later, we formed a partnership with IAPS (the Independent Association of Prep Schools) to increase our circulation to cover their 550+ member prep schools across the United Kingdom.

Attain aims to provide information for parents to help make informed choices and to understand some of the issues affecting independent schools.

In past issues, we have carried high profile interviews with the Education Ministers for all three main political parties (Lord Adonis plus MPs, Jim Knight, Michael Gove, Nick Gibb and Sarah Teather). We have also welcomed contributions from all the leading figures in the sector, including: Geoff Lucas (Secretary, HMC), David Lyscom (Chief Executive, ISC), Barbara Ingram (Director of Education, IAPS), Andrew Boggis, Bernard Trafford (HMC Chairmen, 2006 & 2007/2008 respectively) and Cynthia Hall and Vicky Tuck (GSA Presidents, 2004 and 2008). Attain is published three times a year - in September, January and April. Attain does not accept 'advertorial' and is a publication which is authoritative, accurate and trusted by parents. Attain is not a 'lifestyle magazine'!

We hope Attain will inform, challenge, educate and occasionally entertain. Above all else, we hope it will help the independent sector to communicate more effectively with all those involved in its development.
