Ten nervous and excited girls set off on Friday 25th March to a Model United Nations Conference at Haileybury School. 600 children from 38 schools here and abroad were representing 115 countries and debating such issues as: children in armed conflicts, the position of Kurds and biodiversity loss.

Malvern St James 1st team began day one of the National Schools Lacrosse tournament with a convincing victory over Harrogate College, followed by two very hard fought matches, losing 2-3 and 2-4 in close games, which could have gone either way. The girls bounced back and won their next 3 games in a convincing fashion.

Leisure Centre for Hylton Road
Millie Chen, Year 13, has designed a Leisure Centre for a derelict site on the Hylton Road in Worcester. Millie, who lives in Worcester, was disheartened to see the site alongside the railway embankment lying unused. She said, “I pass this site almost every day and thought it looked so sad to see it neglected and deserted, so when my tutor was discussing possible subjects for my design project I thought it would be a good idea to design something for the site”.

Malvern St James National Youth Theatre Success
Congratulations to Elizabeth Lewis (Year 13) and Jodie Coates (Year 10) who successfully auditioned in Birmingham during the Easter holidays for the National Youth Theatre. Over 4000 students competed for places in 34 audition centres throughout the UK. Jodie and Elizabeth performed a workshop based audition as well as an individual audition.
