Bancroft’s Prep School was founded 20 years ago as a fully co-ed prep school. Housed in an airy, contemporary building, Bancroft’s Prep has a separate identity within the Bancroft’s community; however, it benefits from use of the Senior School’s enhanced facilities. such as the sports hall, chapel, swimming pool, dining room , great hall. It is an academically selective day school for children who are naturally curious about the world and ready to take advantages of the many opportunities the school offers.

About Bancroft's Preparatory School
Pupils are challenged by an exciting and varied curriculum challenges our pupils. Although Maths, English and Science are given prominence, our timetable includes subjects, such as Critical Thinking, Theatre and Current Affairs, which take children beyond the national curriculum. Children are kept busy with a wide ranging and exciting co-curricular programme. Typically, they can chose from a range of over eighty activities a week! The extensive list caters for all tastes: Journalism, Pop Choir, Warhammer, Cookery, Crafts and Cubs. With four choirs, a variety of musical ensembles and several speech and drama groups, music and drama are well catered for. Concerts range from those involving the whole Prep School to intimate lunchtime events. A highlight of last year was a production of The Mikado, an ambitious undertaking in which every pupil was involved.

Sport plays a big role in the life of the School; teams have a regular programme of fixtures with local state and independent schools, as well as taking part in local and national tournaments.

At 11, the majority of Bancroft’s Prep pupils transfer to the Senior School and Prep children perform consistently well in the Senior School’s entrance examination, regularly gaining Academic and Music Scholarships. These academic results are achieved alongside the children’s personal and social growth.
